Wałbrzych, Poland – 1911 Data Centres, is pleased to announce that its flagship Wałbrzych Data Centre has officially received a decision of support from the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone (WSSE "INVEST-PARK"). Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2025, solidifying Wałbrzych’s position as a rising hub for secure and sovereign digital infrastructure in Europe.
Transformational Investment in Poland’s Digital Future
1911 Data Centres will invest a total of 2 billion Złoty into a state-of-the-art, modular 46 MW data centre. The initial phase, representing a 700 million Złoty investment for 16 MW of capacity, is expected to go live in Q1 2027. The modular design will allow for rapid scaling to meet rising demand across Lower Silesia and beyond.
WSSE: A Strategic Partner in Regional Growth
“Investments such as the construction of the Wałbrzych Data Centre show that Poland, including smaller districts, are increasingly attractive locations for global digital players thanks to public support programs, excellent locations and skilled labour,” said Krzysztof Hołub, Vice President of WSSE "INVEST-PARK". “This project will enhance our digital infrastructure not only regionally, but nationally and across Europe.”
Rahim Nanji, Founder of 1911 Data Centres, added: “WSSE’s support is a testament to Wałbrzych’s strategic value. This initiative accelerates our mission to create a highly resilient, secure data centre supporting public and private digital transformation across Poland.”
Designed for Resilience and Public Sector Support
Featuring an N+1 redundancy design, the facility ensures uninterrupted operation for critical systems, significantly improving reliability for essential services. Unlike many existing setups that rely on single power sources, the Wałbrzych Data Centre is engineered to guarantee continuous service delivery to hospitals, municipal systems, and emergency infrastructure.
Meeting Cybersecurity and Regulatory Challenges
Built with compliance in mind, the data centre is fully aligned with the EU’s Energy Efficiency Directive and the NIS2 Directive. This allows the facility to deliver secure, sovereign services to both enterprises and government bodies, amid rising threats and regulatory pressures across the EU.
A Community-Focused Development
With the support of InValbrzych and WSSE, the project will bolster local employment, provide training in digital infrastructure management, and enable low-latency, high-security services for WSSE’s industrial tenants. 1911 Data Centre PL Sp. Z.O.O., established specifically for this initiative and headquartered in Wrocław, exemplifies the company’s commitment to regional integration and local sourcing.
